Adrenalin Junkie

6 Oct

There is a section of dialogue in one of my favourite movies – Parenthood that perfectly summed up Matilda’s afternoon on Tuesday.

Grandma: You know, when I was nineteen, Grandpa took me on a roller coaster.
Gil: Oh?
Grandma: Up, down, up, down. Oh, what a ride!
Gil: What a great story.
Grandma: I always wanted to go again. You know, it was just so interesting to me that a ride could make me so frightened, so scared, so sick, so excited, and so thrilled all together! Some didn’t like it. They went on the merry-go-round. That just goes around. Nothing. I like the roller coaster. You get more out of it.

And more out of it she did. We had a wonderful afternoon at the Wonderland funpark at the Docklands with Kylie, Dan, Thomas, Charlie, Nat, Ella and Macy. Tilda rode the rollercoaster no less than 6 times. And would have kept going if the park hadn’t closed! I tried her on the Merry-Go-Round but she wasn’t at all impressed! Nope, this girl is a thrill seeker and it is a joy to behold.
